Am a little dehydrated...the wonders of water!! I really LOVE water...it's the best drink in the world! I can't understand people who don't like to drink water. It's wonderfully sweet...and I love cold water direct from the fridge.
Anyway, I can't believe it...another weekend has disappeared into thin air! I really did plan to do more reading for my Lit Hausarbeit this weekend, but it never materialised. :( What's new eh?
Instead, I went grocery shopping with Fu Wei on Friday afternoon...we went to Netto...which I don't regularly go to, cos I absolutely hate going to supermarkets where you have to walk. I was either very PMS-y or I dunno what, but her lack of organisation and her ditziness was driving me insane this weekend...I know I'm a horrible person...because she's a very honest, real person...but I am a control freak and I don't like it when people do things which are especially not safe...like not closing the electric kettle properly...or plugging the electric kettle into a socket on the floor and putting the kettle on some surface way higher...I mean I'm concerned that an accident could happen. But in any case, I realised that I've been a real horrible human being...so on her birthday, after all her guests had left, I spent the rest of the day with her. We watched some Chinese drama serial my family gave me until it was time to sleep...and I helped to clear the junk in her room...then I remembered how it was like to be normal friends with her again...because she really is a good person with a good heart...even if she isn't the brightest, most together person on the planet.
Anyway, she chose a pretty complicated cake for her party...we borrowed the handmixer from our neighbour and used it...thank God for technology! We baked the base on Friday night...and I did the filling and the chocolate icing thingy on Saturday morning...it took me nearly the whole morning...and in the end, the cake didn't quite look like the photo in the book...but oh well! It was a little too sweet...but now I know how to adjust this time :)
Her friends were saying that it would be dangerous to live here in our unit...cos with all the good food, everyone would gain weight. Haha...but I like good food...nothing wrong with that..I made pineapple rice again...it's a big hit...I wish I had pork floss...would've been perfect! And I made rendang too...it was all finished up...yay! Ok, I ate the most lah, but never mind...haha. I'll probably cook it again some time...
After lunch, when all the people left, Mai and I gave Fu Wei her presents. Mai got Fu Wei mascara and eyeshadow...her first ever...so we decided to do the really girly thing and Mai applied makeup for her..Mai is really good...I could never do it...even if I apply eyeshadow, it's really no-frills...monotone stuff. Fu Wei wore her pretty dress and we took photos...it was a girly evening...haha...then Mai had to go to the Motown Club with Phuong to check out the scene for their Vietnamese Christmas Party. That's when Fu Wei and I decided to watch "The Champion(s?)"...despite having eaten so much during the party, I couldn't resist the roasted peanuts or sausages or pineapple while watching the show...no matter how much I eat...even if I eat till my stomach hurts, I still get hungry again 2-4 hours later.
Oh, on Friday, Fu Wei and I got 3 slices of cake from the bakery at Netto...I really loved the Schokobirne one...it was excellent! I have to learn how to make that one! Fu Wei and I have decided that we are going to get handmixers for Christmas...ok, rather, I decided that I'll get one for myself and one for her for Christmas...so that we can bake more complicated cakes more easily. :)
Then today, Raymond came to Leipzig to see the Weihnachtsmarkt...well, we didn't go directly to the Weihnachtsmarkt...anyway, I had quite traumatic experience running and running for buses this morning...the first bus came at 9:07, so I only had 2 minutes to get from my hostel to the bus stop...I ran like a maniac...and thank God, I managed to catch it...then I was thinking...ok, now I have 4 minutes to catch the next one...can relax a bit...but then I saw the other bus coming...and I actually had to cross the road...so I had to run like siao again...and then I realised I'd forgotten to bring my handphone with me...sigh...so I hoped nothing would happen to Raymond...cos he couldn't call me nor I him. But it went smoothly...and then we headed to the Neustadt first...to the Kunsthof Passage...it's really one of my favourite places lately. But I wouldn't go there alone lah. More fun with people around. Then we walked around the area until the Vietnamese restaurant we wanted to go to opened...then we had a good lunch...I liked my food! Oops...I still owe him some money...I forgot! This is one of my new fave places to eat...though I rarely eat out these days...no one to go out with. Then we decided to go to the 3 Elbschlösser...I'd never been there before, but Angeline mentioned that she brought her parents there while they were in Dresden. So we went...they are quite small really...but it was ok...the view was not bad and we had fun walking up and down all the dilapidated steps in different directions and widths/breadths. We crossed the Blaues Wunder, then we went to the Weihnachtsmarkt...along Hauptstrasse, where we had waffles with Nutella! Then we crossed the bridge to the Altstadt...and walked to the Frauenkirche...ate the cheesy bread thing that Ruth and I had the last time...it was nice...but very cold...we had to look for a place to keep warm. Then we walked to the Altmarkt...and had drinks...then walked somemore, and I ate this thing which looked like a pau...which was why I wanted to eat it...and then went to Altmarkt Galerie cos we needed to use the toilet...we sat there until they started turning off the lights...then we walked down Prager Strasse and had another drink...and then slowly walked to the Hauptbahnhof, where we hung out in the bookshop until it was time for him to go to his train...and I managed to catch the 11, so I didn't have to wait so long! Yay! And now I'm really tired...should probably go to sleep soon...have to go grocery shopping tomorrow morning, if not I won't have anything to eat for lunch and dinner tomorrow.
