I'm getting really sporadic with my entries...am drowning in work. And I mean DROWNING!
I just managed to finish my German lit paper from last sem last night. It seems to be going in a million different directions and has no point. It's a whole bunch of bullshit...but I really don't know how to change it...after all, shit will be shit...no matter how you package it. So anyway, I just handed it in...I didn't know which letterbox to put it in, so I just dumped it into the DAF one. I hope he gets it...I keep wondering if it was a better idea to hand it to him personally when I go see him tomorrow. But well, I thought it would be kinda embarrassing, since it's such crap. I spent one whole week on it..but still, it's crap. I think to do a real good paper, I need at least one month. But there's no time for such things.
I still have one more paper to go. I kinda don't wanna do it cos maybe I'll find out during the Studienberatung tomorrow that I don't have to do it after all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The bloody form is way too confusing. I have no idea what I need. Maybe I'll get it explained to me tomorrow. I hope so anyway.
Anyway, I think I've managed to make an idiot of myself today, while talking to a professor. This was in German...she asked me how I decided on doing communication studies. I heard "So did you get to do communication studies?" and I said, "No way! But I got my second choice"..oh God, what kind of idiot am I? And I didn't even realise till I left her office...and I forgot to ask her how the process is like...like when do I go set my appointment for the exam and all that. I hardly remember what she told me last semester. Man...anyway, I think I have to get an approval from the exams office first, before I can set a date..
I may as well have been camping at my faculty man...I've been there nearly every day this week. Just for your info, my faculty doesn't have many rooms, so it's most just offices...we have our lectures and seminars mostly all over the campus. I've been sitting in queues waiting to see Profs. I've gone to see 3 in as many days...the last one's tomorrow...and then...I'm going to IKEA!!!
I know I went last week, but there're still lots of things I wanna buy. I think it's better to go now than later in the semester anyway. I really wanna get an armchair...but they're so freaking big. I wonder if I can get them delivered...but who'd deliver ONE armchair? Dunno what kinda price I'd have to pay. I'd like a bookshelf too...I have like so so so so many books! I have 5 books waiting to be read...and I mean non-school related ones...for school, I have a lot more. I want them all to be neat and organised...by that I mean my lecture notes too. My room would really look nice if I could decorate it by myself...in any case though, the bright mat really does brighten up my room a lot. I'm so happy I bought it...even though it looks a bit kiddy. But I am kiddy. I want a lot of things...have to see if we can bring it all home though. Fu Wei is going with me. I'm sure she'll wanna buy lots of things too. Maybe we can get IKEA to deliver...or take a cab back. Or something. I'm really excited already! Maybe I'll get some food from IKEA too...their food's actually not very ex. I can't wait!! It's definitely something that'll help ease the stress I've been feeling the past few days.
Ok, Fu Wei just came to borrow my uni sport ID...she wants to go swimming at 6am tomorrow morning. Well, while I was the most enthusiastic person about swimming last sem, waking up at 5am and going almost every week...I am definitely NOT keen on waking up at 5am during autumn or winter...it's FREEZING and it's DARK...unlike in summer, when the sun's already up at 5. Call me lazy, but you won't get me out of bed when it's so cold! I'll start going for swimming next week...on Thursday, at 1pm, when the sun is shining. I love swimming, but there are some things I wouldn't sacrifice.
Seriously, not much has happened this past week. I saw a lecturer and had a short chat with her at the bus stop. She still didn't know whether my name was Samantha or Sue. Haha. And...I got to eat some fries and fried rice that Phuong cooked. Other than that, I've been eating like the same thing for a few days in a row. First it was rice with stir-fried veg and meat, then fried rice...then it was pasta with pesto sauce..and for the past 2 meals, it was pasta with tomato cream sauce, broccoli and luncheon meat. I guess tomorrow, the broccoli will be replaced by zucchini. And I need to get more sour cream...or maybe I'll make zucchini and egg fried rice instead, once all the cream is used up. And yay, I bought my wholemeal spaghetti!! Think I'll switch to rice for a few meals before I switch back to pasta though.
I so totally pigged out on junk today. For lunch, I had lots and lots of Vanille Kipferl, this Christmas cookie that I love. These were actually too sweet..oh well, maybe I'll make my own again this Christmas...I made some last year and they turned out quite well I think...but the best are from my former landlady in Nürnberg. And I also ate lots of pretzels...to satisfy my salt cravings...winter is a pigging out time for me man...gotta be more careful.
Wonder when my CD will be coming in...ordered it on Tuesday from a US website. Supposed to be the priority mail...hope it comes tomorrow or on Saturday. Have paid good money for it.
Ok, better go sleep now...have to queue outside yet another office tomorrow morning.
