I feel like a walking corpse. I'm totally exhausted...being sick totally tires me out.
Fu Wei and I went to Albertplatz to meet Carlos and Sebastian yesterday evening. Fu Wei and I were a little late...we were supposed to be only 3 min late, but the tram took even longer to come than expected...and Carlos was already there. Along the way, Mai called us and asked where we were, so we waited for her. Sebastian took even longer to come, so we decided to walk to the restaurant first. It was quite a walk from Albertplatz to the restaurant, but it was ok...not TOO cold and it wasn't dark yet.
Mai and Fu Wei went to take a look at the Kunsthofpassage, but Carlos and I went into the restaurant first, cos we'd seen the place a million times before. I mean it is pretty but I'll probably bring Jasmine there when she's here, so I decided NOT to go and NOT kill the joy of seeing it again in 2 weeks' time. Carlos and I spent the time looking at his map of Germany and marking places which I had visited and thought were worth visiting. He's been to quite a lot of places, man. For someone who's only been here since April.
Anyway, they soon came and about 1 hour after the time we were SUPPOSED to meet, Sebastian strolled in. He said, "Sorry, I'm typically Spanish". Thankfully, Carlos isn't like him, because Fu Wei and I would've frozen to death waiting for both of them at the tram stop!!
They gave us keropok...mmm! Then we took our own sweet time ordering...translating the menu and etc etc. I know I am boring, but I ate the same thing I always eat when I go to that restaurant. I like it a lot, and I know I couldn't possibly cook it for myself. After a brief intro on the menu, Carlos decided to have what I was having. It was kinda funny because Carlos was saying he wanted to eat vegetables, like onions, mushroom, carrots, paprika, bamboo etc...and Sebastian, when asked by Mai what he wanted to eat, said he would eat anything that didn't have too many vegetables. Two of them are like total opposites! But I suppose they still get on perfectly. Sebastian is super good with chopsticks...and he tried to teach Carlos...but in the end, I think they ended up using fork and spoon. Fu Wei too. Mai and i used chopsticks cos I prefer using chopsticks for noodles anyway. For rice, I'd definitely use a fork.
I have no idea what we did the whole evening, but time passed pretty quickly. The food was also super filling. Both Carlos and I couldn't finish...but Fu Wei finished my food for me cos her dish was pretty tasteless...but the sauce was kinda peppery. But we had dessert though...deep fried bananas in a coconut sauce...I was full, but I do seem to have a separate compartment for dessert...plus, I can never resist bananas...or chocolate for that matter. I've just polished off an entire box of chocolate biscuits (read: 150g)...and that even though I am coughing like crazy. I really have to exercise more self-restraint...I know such stuff is not gonna help me to get well any sooner. Blah.
Carlos was flipping around in his dictionary a lot the whole evening. He says he brings his bag around just because of his dictionary. Well, I've stopped carrying a dictionary around, but I told him about how my dictionary was now in pieces...because it was my "best friend" for years. He seems like a very intelligent and interesting person (but not an intellectual snob, thankfully)..but unfortunately, the language barrier seems to make it a little harder to carry on a conversation. But what I find interesting about him is his keeness to learn. I mean he wants to go to Scotland next year to learn English...and he checked Wikipedia to find out more about Singapore and stuff. But it was really hard to explain what a Fachwerkhaus is...
Anyway, by the time we'd left the restaurant, it was already 11 something...there was like no one else in the restaurant besides us by the time we left. Oh, something really funny: I brought Carlos' jacket to return it to him...but Fu Wei was cold, so he lent it to her...and she wore it home...haha...so we still have to give it back to him AGAIN! But we'll see them after I come back...cos I asked them to come over when Jas is here...I'm sure she'd like to see some new faces besides just mine. And since they are interested to go to Meissen too, if they do happen to be in town next next weekend, maybe we can go together.
Ok, I really should go get my stuff for the coming week packed...
