Haven't really had time to update. Really shouldn't be updating even now, but oh well!
Really tired now. I don't know how I am gonna survive another long day of school tomorrow, but there's no school on Thursday, so it's not so bad. Got one day to rest!
I'm trying to read "The Iliad" now...the version in plain English of course...I'm not really much into verse. But boy, I must say, the stuff is really BLOODY explicit....like it's so awful how they describe people being killed. So violent, just as Lady Chatterly's Lover, which I read before this, is a porn novel given literary status. The imagination can be really worse than its visual embodiment. I was trying to shut out images in my mind when reading the Iliad. Or else I'd have puked out my dinner. The book is so old that the pages are literally crumbling...they're too brittle! Sigh. But that's the only plain text version in English in our gigantic library, so I'll have to read that one. I just pray the book won't disintegrate in my hands. Don't wanna pay for it! After that book, I wanna read "Katharina der Grosse"..she's a German princess who became the Tsarin of Russia. I watched the movie with Catherine Zeta-Jones last year. I think movies based on books always make me wanna read the original text. So it's not a matter of new media replacing the old. It's more a complementary relationship.
Okay...time to bathe...ciao!
