Sorry for the long absence

School started last week and the week before that, my Internet got suspended for a week, so you can imagine I was in a totally horrible mood and didn't feel like writing. In fact, many things happened...and when so many things happen, you can't really remember what you want to say.

I spent the last few days of the hols at Marcus' place. We went to visit his grandma and grandaunt and along with his sister, we went to see Halle, a town I have never been to. Marcus was born there, so his grandaunt said it was a must-see. We went to the Halloren chocolate factory, which is the oldest chocolate factory in Germany. The museum was much smaller than the one in Köln but I think it has potential. They just need to collect more items to put on display. We had lunch at Galleria Kaufhof..and there was a great view of the Markt from up there. The food was not bad either. After shopping for a bit, we took a tram, planning to see the river, but I can't remember what happened...but we went home without seeing the river...but we will probably go back in summer and take a cruise along the river.

Then school started. It was a not so hectic week because about half of the classes wouldn't start till after Easter...though the stupid thing was that I only had one class on Wednesday morning because the others on Wednesday and Thursday would only start the following week...BUT one afternoon class on Thursday wasn't cancelled, so I had to wait much longer before I could go to Leipzig. Sigh. Well, Tuesdays and Thursdays are really packed...so I'm glad Wednesdays are half-days for me...and I don't have classes on Mondays and only one on Fridays.

Marcus and I exchanged Easter presents on Friday because I couldn't wait for him to open his presents...we had this 10 Euro deal that no one would spend more than 10 Euro on presents...and I had to be creative...so of course I wanted to know if he liked his presents (decided to give him small things instead of one big thing). He spent way more money than 10 Euro though..silly boy...but I am of course pleased to have a HUGE chocolate Easter bunny...no one has ever given me something like that. I also got a gingerbread heart and a Sheepworld photo stand (what are these things called anyway?) and he was happy with his Kinder Surprise and playing cards and a cassette which belongs to the series he used to collect.

Then on Saturday, after quickly wrapping presents for his family, we drove to Berlin. Together with his parents, we met his sister at this Chinese restaurant which they usually go to. The food wasn't bad, except I really have to protest the fact that every Asian restaurant, or Chinese restaurant, tends to go super heavy on bamboo...and I HATE the smell and taste of bamboo...I miss Singaporean Chinese food. I thought I would be safe if I ordered Mapo Tofu...but there was bamboo in there too. *sigh* Still, the deepfried chicken in batter that everyone else ate was good. And the waiter was a real comedian! Marcus' sister Stefanie has a friend at the restaurant and she happened to be there that day, so we had free dessert, which was delicious! After that we went to an orchid show but the orchids were already being auctioned off...so we went to Kaufmarkt to buy groceries. There were tons of people there and hardly any meat because everyone was buying for the 2 public holidays ahead. After that, Marcus and I went for a walk and he showed me his old school. The weather was pretty good! In the evening, we exchanged presents, even though it wasn't Easter yet..but it's fun to get presents and I liked all of mine. The lamp that Stefanie made for Marcus was also really pretty and matches his apartment's colours. After dinner, I fell asleep on the couch after watching Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar...apparently I woke up halfway through Ice Age...heh. On Sunday, we stayed at home and looked at photos...and had Rouladen for lunch. We left after having tea.

On Monday, Marcus let me create a new World of Warcraft character which he said was all mine and I would get to decide everything (Hoppilina, the first one I created, has become his...and the one he is playing with a lot now)...and I ended up playing the whole day...this new character looks almost exactly like Hoppilina except for the hairstyle and she also has a different animal...because Marcus insists that Hoppy the falcon was too weak again elites. The blood elves are just sooo pretty...I refused to create an Orc or Zombie or whatever. And I also wanted a girl...the hair colour and earrings were the same as Hoppilina's because they are the ones I like best.

Ok, won't talk about school much except I have 1 presentation next week, another one in 2 weeks and an exam on 4th May. Then an exam and presentation on 22nd May and one on 23rd May...so you can imagine I will be quite dead during that period...but then after that, I'll be free to work on my term papers, so it's quite ok, I guess.

Met my presentation partner yesterday morning and divided up the work...but will have to work over the weekend, since the presentation is on Tuesday. She paid for my coffee, which was very nice :) Then I had to waste about an hour or so...so I went to TUDIAS to collect my UNICERTs for Swedish and Czech...then went to Lidl to take a look around and buy milk. I was glad I went for the next class earlier because it was packed...there were 97 people in a room for 50! Ugh. Today's class has 67 people...which is better but will have to go early enough as well.

Ok, today's Tuesday, 17th April...anyway, I went to meet an acquaintance after the last class on Thursday. There was a bit of chaos because my class ended 1 whole hour earlier than expected.

But, I made it to Watzke in the end. Phew. And it was a pretty nice place. It wasn't yet too crowded because it was still early in brewery time. Ordered a grapefruit beer, but it tasted like beer and not anything like grapefruit. The Schweinehaxe was ok too...and though I am not a Knödel fan, that was good too. He told me he was going back to Malaysia to meet his prospective brides, so we ended up talking plenty about that topic. If he likes anyone of them, he'll probably be married by November! Cool...and we talked about Marcus too. He saw Marcus' photo and said he was good-looking...and Marcus keeps insisting people only say that because I'm their friend. I wish he would be less sceptical. Anyway, I had a great time talking to him.

When I had to go to the toilet though, it was hilarious. I walked out to the place that he described but I wasn't sure I was right...then this man, say around 60, asked if I was heading to the toilet as well and if he could accompany me. Then he took my arm and walked towards the toilet...asking me if I had understood him and he said, "Ein wenig Spass muss sein". Then, when I was done, I opened the door and he happened to pass by the door at that moment...and then he said, "I thought women usually take very long in the toilet?" and I replied, "Well, not me"...and he walked me back out to his friends, who were all guys his age and introduced me as his girlfriend. We all laughed like crazy and I went back to my table after that...it was a hilarious experience!
