Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

Me tired...zzzz...I went out twice today!

Yesterday was more slack...I stayed at home and watched both Wan Yu eps...and read a book. Then Shermaine and I made Nunkey cookies. Well, the butter melted and that's a totally BAD thing when you are doing the rubbing-in method. It spoils the dough! But I was too impatient to wait for it to re-solidify in the fridge...and as I predicted, the dough turned out all wrong. The cookies got burnt too, cos well, it's hard to discern if chocolate-coloured cookies are chao ta or not. So they just burnt in the oven.

Went for dinner with Jiat Ling and Kheng Hui. We walked around like the whole of Holland V...and ended up at Crystal Jade. Wanted to try the Lebanese food, but like ONE main course was $22 and the rice was $4. Hmm, cannot eat there without burning a hole in the pocket lor! Then we had Gelato for dessert. That was nice!

Okay, then today I woke up at 7.30am...first time I've smelled morning air in months! Had to get to Orchard by 9am...but as expected, the whole place was still in slumber land, so we walked from Orchard to Suntec. But too lazy to walk back, so we took the MRT. Häagen Daz was still not open...so walked around Far East Plaza...then went back. Finally had ice cream for breakfast at 11.30am or so...what decadence!

I got back by 2pm, so I watched Wan Yu. Then some vcd...then used the com...then had to bathe and go off to the airport to see Han off. I was trying to write a letter to her on the bus and MRT. My hand just totally cramped after that. Wrote from my house all the way till Bedok MRT station...can die lor. Was feeling a bit sick too...and the handwriting looked awful. But important thing was that it was written and handed over. Sigh. Another YEAR before I get to see her again. So sad.

Hmm, time for another update...been quite busy this week. Not really doing anything but going out really.

On Sat, Chris, Rach, Han and Ruth came over to hang out. It was so super fun and the food was good too. Loved Chris' gingerbread with applesauce. We just talked and well, we got Shermaine to tell us the entire plot of Hai Tun Wan...and we totally laughed our heads off at the leaps of logic...but strangely enough, despite the obvious loopholes, it's still pretty watchable...and though the people acting in it aren't dropdead gorgeous, they kinda grow on you. My mum's a real addict. She's been watching and making us watch it with her. I have to keep telling her every night that she'd better stop now cos she has to go to work tomorrow. I dread to imagine what will happens when she stops working next week. Probably'll watch all the VCDs in our store...and mind you, we have a LOT of them.

Sunday was just ordinary..Han and I woke up like super late, cos we talked till 4am or so. Then the rest of the day was more or less spent watching more Hai Tun Wan.

On Monday, Han and I went to Suntec and walked around. I got a new top...although I swore off buying new clothes. Just too tempting lah, at $12. Then we just walked round and round, looking for shorts and other things. We didn't buy much though. We had dessert at Crepes and Cream...Han said I was a picky eater...but I don't think so. Not anymore anyway. Can't get so fat on being a picky eater, can you? I think we watched more Hai Tun Wan in the evening again. Heh. Can you believe we're not even through watching them yet?

Tuesday was not bad either. met Chris, Ruth, Han and Rach for lunch in Little India. Well, Syed Alwi Road anyway, near Mustafa. It was a Indian vegetarian restaurant called Raj's. The food was good, the place very clean and airconditioned...and you know what? It only cost us 5 bucks each to eat our fill...inclusive service tax. Cool eh? Then Ruth and I went back to NJ and talked about studying in Germany. The new year ones are really cute man. So innocent and polite and all that. Cool. Oh, watched Wan Quan Yu Le and thought Han's best friend looks a bit like Toro. Probably will get yelled at for that.

Okay, then yesterday I went to Ruth's house. Her mum cooked fried carrot cake and laksa. Yum yum! Both were really nice, and I had this nice satisfied feeling. Then I went to Orchard, supposedly to meet Han, but I had to buy a lot of stuff for Shermaine too. First stop was Wisma. I bought tickets to the Zhou Chuan Xiong concert. I'm bringing Shermaine. It's one of my "To do" things in life...to watch a concert. Yes. I've never been to one. Next stop: Kino. I bought Zhang Shan Wei's book, which she wanted...and ended up being tempted to buy Shao Wei's book and a special issue of Play mag. More money down the drain, but Shao Wei looked so nice on the back cover, that it was a bit hard to resist. Then as I was walking toward Heeren to get some CDs, this interviewer guy was trying to be funny by saying, "so I got chance or not?" when I said I had no boyfriend. I so wanted to tell him that I could see his nose growing longer...but I resisted. It was like that time Han and I were at Suntec and this guy said, "Give me half a minute to change your mind". I wanted to say, "I could give you half a minute to be disappointed, but I'm too kind." I should stop being so evil.

Then at HMV, I bought the S.H.E Cd and the 5566 newest gaiban. Just to help Shermaine get those chops on the card. I figure HMV is way too ex for normal cds. I usually only buy CDs I can't find anywhere else from there. But oh well, to let Shermaine get a free CD, I'll just have to.

Went to OG to buy underwear, since they were having a Moving Out Sale. Think my mum was a bit shocked at how much it all cost. I have to admit...underwear is NOT cheap. I was shocked too.

Then went to Centrepoint, thinking I could get the "Lavender" VCDs which my mum wants...but they were sold out. I was freaking exhausted by then...and DEAD broke. I had to use NETS the whole day. Just too broke. I bought cocoa powder and mini M&Ms to make Nunkey cookies. haven't made them though...either Shermaine or I will procrastinate. Then I was just so dead, I cancelled on the thing with Han and her best friend, cos no money for a pedicure and went home.

Shermaine and I watched "What a Girl Wants", then the 5566 VCD...then American Idol. TV addicts, the both of us.
