Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

What is it with spring and the whole world pairing up? Would you believe that my neighbours' boyfriends/girlfriends are practically living in their rooms with them now? One of my neighbours has to sleep over at another friend's place cos her roommate's boyfriend is perpetually spending the night.

In any case, I looked out my window today and saw what looked like puke on my window sill. Now where on earth did that come from? I mean how did it get there? Even if someone upstairs puked out his/her window, it wouldn't be possible, if you look at the angle. If it was a bird's puke, I'm really amazed at how much puke a bird can contain. I'm almost afraid to open the window and clean it up...but if I won't, who will? And what actually made me notice the puke was the fact that water came pouring down this morning...and it wasn't rain! Grossness man! Ultimate grossness!

Other than that, I got ditched...supposed to going to some furniture shop...not that I have anything to buy, but it'd be fun to look around. Anyway, they forgot me, so whatever lah...not like it's the first time such things have happened. Now I have more time for my homework and aimless surfing I guess...

Weekend again. Not feeling too hot this week. Swamped with more homework than ever and silly me...why did I agree to go to see furniture with my friend? I don't even need any furniture.

In any case, I seriously wasted a lot of time yesterday cleaning up the wash area. I mean sure I had to clean it for the inspection today, but the caretaker like banged on my door when I was having lunch...and asked me who the pots and pans outside belonged to. She threatened to take them away. Then she asked, "Whose are these? A German's or Chinese's? (this is a direct translation)" and well, I said, "German" and then she said she'd leave a note for them. Hello...so does this mean that if they belonged to a PRC, she would've thrown them away without a second thought? I find this throughly disturbing. In addition to that, she insisted I clean the wash area (which is my responsibility). I said I'd do it in the evening (cos I was halfway through my lunch. At first she said okay..then she poured detergent on the floor and said I should start cleaning up now...so no choice right? So I spent about 1-2 hours just scrubbing away at the sinks and mopping the floor and wiping the mirrors. I felt dead tired after that. It's not a big place or anything, but I had to scrub really hard to get rid of the accumulated I dunno what. The greatest injustice of it all is, the inspection group didn't even really inspect the place. They just opened the unit door and peeked in and left. Now is that sick or is that sick?!

Went shopping today. Found spinach! You cannot believe how happy I am! I miss eating spinach so much!! Will probably cook porridge and add carrots and spinach to it...boy...getting hungry just thinking about it...

Oh well, here's to a long weekend of homework!

Okay, 2 days later, the internet is still functioning okay...I'm eternally grateful!

So yes, I have forced myself to stay buried in homework for the whole of Saturday, excepting the phone call I made to Ruth (what kinda funny English is that?) So now I just have like 40-50 pages of Gesprächsanalyse to read and some other stuff to photocopy, which I can only do tomorrow anyway, since the library's not open on Sundays. But I'm so happy that most of the crap is out of the way already. Although of course the reading is the most difficult and annoying one. But I'll get through it somehow...even if it means just reading all the heading and subheadings...better than nothing right?

It was so fun talking to Ruth yesterday! It's like finally, a chance to speak to someone who doesn't think I speak too fast or too unclearly (okay, maybe I do, but Ruth is more tolerant that other people). Trying to decide what to order from the catalogue was fun...and of course commenting on which clothes are nice was fun too! There's something about catalogue shopping or pretend catalogue shopping that's fun. But I don't see the need for it in Singapore, when we have so many shops around and so nearby as well.

Ooh, it's raining outside. I'm so happy when it rains nowadays, cos it's getting warmer and warmer here! It feels like I am in Singapore. I walked around in a short-sleeved shirt on Friday..no jacket! Well, I had a jacket, but it was way too hot, so I took it off. But well, the Germans are all really keen to strut around in sleeveless shirts and shorts...but they didn't get to spend a month in Singapore, so I guess they really crave the sun and heat.

Okay, gonna bake a cake soon...really looking forward to that! I haven't touched an oven in eons..and I miss banana cake!
