Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

Haha...think this is the first time I am writing 2 days in a row in a long long time. But I am very bored here. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE, except for Manfred is here in the dept. I supposed Ormond will come back and Uwe will come in time for lunch (as usual)

I have been working on Adobe Photoshop, trying to edit this picture but so far it has not been completed. Alex was supposed to help me today but he is not here so I wonder how he plans to help me...he must have had too much fun at his mother's party yesterday, despite the fact he was complaining that he'd rather go for training.

I was toying with the idea of studying English in Germany...that way I should have slightly less problems with studying and yet I will still get to use German in daily life. Best of both worlds eh? But it is a pretty crazy idea I have to admit and it still won't exempt me from the stupid TestDAF...speaking of which, there is no way that I will be able to take it in Singapore. If I wanna study here, it is most likely that I will have to take the test at the Uni of my choice.

This weekend, Sonia, Ruth's friend will be visiting in Nürnberg. We'll be going shopping and going to watch Chicago...it's the first movie that we are watching in the cinemas here. Hmm...I hope it will be worth the money. Movie tix here are really really ex.

Yo...it's not really that I am so busy that I never update my blog, but rather cos I am so damn friggin' bored at work that I cannot bring myself to write. The phrase is 'sian diao'...really...I was so bored that I almost cried when Frank told me there wasn't any work for me at that point. Now I really know what it is like to be bored to tears! Apart from emailing and randomly accessing websites, there is not really much to do in the office. It is super super sian man! Plus, you see, I sit in this cluster of 4 desks. No one around me is here today...Holger and Frank are on business trips and Uwe usually comes in just in time for lunch, so yes, basically I am just slacking. My German isn't improving either cos I mean how much can you say when everyone is working and talking business, which I have absolutely no share in at all??

The weekend was good though. I got to see a frozen waterfall and some yak-like animal from Scotland...couldn't see its eyes but it had a super hairy tongue. Boy am I glad cows can't kiss. I'd puke if I were a cow. Haha...but I am not. Sigh...all the snow is disappearing and Spring is coming. Yes, I love the warmth but I wish I could keep the snow. The sky is so so so blue here...no clouds for almost 2 weeks already!

We (Ruth and I) went to a Faschings-parade on Sunday...it was fun, like Halloween. Everyone was in costumes and they threw sweets. We collected a whole bagful...the costumes were cuter though...we saw a gigantic blue kangaroo and 3 people dressed as cows, complete with udders and all. One man was really nice to Ruth and me, giving us lotsa sweets cos we are foreigners. I got some edible paper too...kinda tastes a tad like those roses we used to have on cakes...remember those? Then we went to Ruth's landlady's sister's house to eat homemade doughnuts (these have no holes...called Berliners or Krapfen). Yum yum..Ruth and I had 3 a piece!

Then yesterday we went to the Germanisches Nationalmuseum...it was damn freaky, cos it had within the compound this restored church-like structure and loadsa paintings and statues....creepy! We totally ran through that section cos it was at night and quite dark, and went to look at the instrument exhibits and the one that we really wanted to see, the clothing display. It was quite cool to see shoes from the 1700s! But erm, night is not a good time to visit museums...it is super creepy! We were on the edge of our wits, I reckon.

Today, according to Alex, is the first important day of Fasching celebrations. It's some women-centred thing where women cut off the ties of the men...he wore a tie to the office and it got cut off by Andrea....it's all for the best though, since the tie didn't quite match his shirt anyway. Haha!

I'm really scared of this guy in my office. I think he doesn't like me...since the first day we had some misunderstanding which I personally don't understand so yeah...he freaks me out!
