Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

Sorry about the break in the entry, but well, if I type too much in one entry, it simply will not publish and I will lose every single thing I have spent ages typing!

So anyway, now that I know every single one of my close friends is going overseas for their university education, I have pretty much decided that I want to study in Germany, scholarship or not. I will not be, in a sense, leaving behind any boyfriend or best friend (cos she's going to Melbourne) and so I have no major problems uprooting for around 4 to 5 years. Naturally, I'd like to come back to Singapore to work and whatever, but while I am young and in the Uni, I'd like to see a little more of the world.

You know something really strange? I don't know if it is because Singapore is so small, that I do know where most of the major countries in the world are...but it seems like people in big countries don't know their geography very well. Not that I blame them for not knowing where Singapore is...who would, in their right mind, know where the tiny dot in the ocean is? Still, many of the people in my department have worked in Singapore, so they aren't that ignorant.

Yesterday I was kinda bored, so I did some trivia quiz and I only got 1 answer wrong. Not bad for a non-genius! Haha....yeah yeah, I'm so egoistic! But I do know quite a fair bit of useless information...

I dun wanna go home!!! Okay, but I miss my family and friends...well, you can't have your cake and eat it. I'll be back!
Man, it's my last day of work already! It's been a pretty good day, except I strangely have not received a single email that I cannot classify as junk. I've done some work and surfed the net and played neopets...again, yes =) anyway, Uwe thinks Destruct-o-match is very cute. It's my favourite game thanks to Sherry (my sister, for the uninitiated) who kept saying it was really nice to play, until I had to play it for myself.

I was really shocked when they gave me a present and said their goodbye things. It was kinda like a surprise birthday party or something! I like the people here and if I ever come to Germany again, which I will most probably do, I will visit them. Of course there are friendlier ones and less friendly ones, but on the whole, they're good people.

I unfortunately have not packed or even started packing my luggage! I don't even wanna think about how I am going to do it, especially since my luggage isn't that big and well, if you know me, I am a major shoppaholic...just as much as I'd hate to admit it, and there is NO space for all my stuff. I reckon I'll have to do something about the winter clothing and try to vacuum-pack all the clothes. I have a whole new wardrobe, by the way!

I think I will have to try and pack most of the things in tomorrow so that I can see how much I can actually buy on Friday (actually, from what I have described, I bet you'd all think me crazy for wanting to buy more---but I mean even if I do come back to Germany, it will only be in 6 months' time, so I have to erm, stock up or something.

I can't believe it...I will be in Singapore by the end of this week! Time really flies...how can 3 months be over so quickly?

Friday was really boring. I even succumbed to playing Neopets! Haha...okay, I can't wait to go home and play freely without worrying that people are staring over my shoulder...even though I don't think anyone really does that...though when I was typing something about the different methods of hair removal, my colleague came over. Anyway, I didn't really get to say goodbye to Alex. He was relatively stressed and he even had an argument with Uwe. Then he was in a hurry to leave, so we didn't talk much also. Oh well...he did promise to email his photo to me so Sa'adia can have a look at him.

I went shopping on Saturday and bought a ton of clothes and things. I will have to buy chocolate to bring home today, so I can roughly figure out how my stuff will eventually fit into my luggage. I do not have much hope that everything will miraculously fit inside but at least most of the stuff will, I hope. Anyway, I have enough clothes to last me a lifetime...or at least quite long. Most of the stuff is more grown up than I am used to wearing cos of the office thing...but I'm happy with it.

Sunday was terrible in terms of the weather...it kept raining and stopping and raining and stopping. Everytime I thought it finally stopped raining, I had to "eat a broom" or as the English phrase goes, I had to eat my hat. It rained and stopped at least 6 times yesterday. I was so irritated that I refused to go out and spent the whole day watching TV, sleeping and eating. There was this once show that was really good though. It's called 'Genial Daneben' and this panel of comedians have to answer questions like 'What animal was banned in New York from sleeping in the bathtub'. It is so hilarious man!!! I mean there was one question like 'Why do you sit on the left side to drive (in Germany it is opposite from in Singapore) and one guy said 'Cos if you sat on the right, the steering wheel would be too far away!' My goodness, I laughed till I wanted to die...and there are a lot of other funny ones too. Unfortunately, I will not be able to watch any more episodes cos the next one is Saturday night and I am leaving on Sat afternoon. Sigh.
