Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

I'm just trying to kill time before the camera crew arrives. Goodness knows when that will be. Although I'm sure they're very resourceful people...many people are befuddled when I give them directions to my house...and I don't think I'm lousy at giving directions.

My poor maid has been working so hard to move all my family's (esp my dad's) junk to less conspicuous areas in my house. And believe me, considering my dad's philosophy is "Do not leave any open space empty", you can probably imagine what my house looks like normally.

I'm getting a stomachache already. It's like I haven't been able to sleep well for the past few days. I doubt it's cos of this...but aiyah...like that lor.

Only have a few days more before I have to go back to Germany. I have decided to NOT do any work and just relax and enjoy the rest of my hols. Once back in Germany, I'll work my ass off...but first I need a REAL break.

FINALLY, the first term paper completed and printed out. The ink's really blotchy though...I'll let my mum read and correct first before I use the other printer to print a final copy to hand in. After typing this, I shall start on my Lehrwerkanalyse paper. Hard to imagine how I'm gonna write 8 pages in GERMAN!

I've taken the whole weekend off, because I've been running around like a headless chicken, as Rach would call it. Like I was stressed, but I couldn't allow myself to fully rest and recharge because of the fear that I wouldn't be able to complete my homework before the deadline.

So what did I do this weekend? Well, on Saturday morning, I opened the newspaper and read an article about William Hung. Saw that he had only 10+ fans go to meet him at the airport...kinda pitied him. I mean if you're supposedly famous and no one comes to see you...it's really quite sad. So when I saw that he had some meet-the-fans thing at IMM, I decided to go. Mind you, it's only cos it was nearby that I went. If it were at Toa Payoh or whatever, I wouldn't have gone...if it were at Jurong Point, I probably wouldn't have gone either. It just so happened to be at a convenient place and time for me. Yes, I hear all of you sniggering... "William Hung? Have you gone insane?" that's the response I got from the people I've told. Oh well...I have 2 explanations for my apparently crazy idea of going to see him. The not very nice one is: If people with neither looks nor talent can make it big, there's hope for the rest of us. The nicer one is: we should support people who aren't big-headed creeps. He's not, but I don't think I can say the same for his parents. Like market your son and treat him like a money-making machine. I am sooo against that kinda exploitation. That aside...once in a while, we all need to go out and do something silly that won't hurt anyone else. Going to William Hung's autograph session is perfect as such a something.

What else did I do on Saturday? Went shopping with Audrey. Wow...I wish I had that much money to spend. We worked our way from Scotts to Plaza Sing. She had lots and lots of bags by the time we made it to dinner with some of the 34th. Being the poor student I am...I only got 2 nail buffers from The Body Shop...cos I accidentally broke my old one, and a top from TOPSHOP. I love TOPSHOP stuff. I tried on a jacket and a pair of pants too...but they were just too expensive for me, so I just bought the only piece which I could still afford.

Dinner was more for the meeting up. I hate all fish and seafood, so going to Fish&Co isn't exactly my idea of having fun. Thank God they had plain old tomato sauce pasta...if not I'd have had to eat the salad...yucks. I don't fancy salad much. I love my veggies...but only if they're cooked and dead.

Well, then I slacked around the whole day on Sunday. Didn't get a single intellectual thing done. Just read magazines and watched TV and surfed the net. After running out of decent women's magazines to read, I borrowed Guojun's Men's Health. It's like my new fave magazine...apart from Cleo, that is. Why do I wanna read Men's Health? Well, I love the little health info bits. My fave info was the difference between red and green peppers. It's also funny to read about different health and relationship problems for a change. However, my interest in men's magazines is limited to Men's Health. I don't fancy I'll take a look at FHM or the new Maxim. I draw the line at stuff here. Men's Health doesn't have all those (semi-)naked women in provocative positions...well actually they do have a few, but that's not the focus of the magazine. haha...here's where I draw the line.

Ok, back to work! Gonna spend the whole Mon-Fri doing work...so I can enjoy the weekend and hopefully return Jiat Ling her Sowieso before I leave Singapore.
