Life...and other afflictions

The rantings and uninteresting events of my life

In less than 24 hours, I will be sitting in the exam hall and cracking my brain, regretting not studying harder. But still, I'm trying to "verdrängen" the feeling. I don't know...

Anyway, I had a great evening yesterday. My neighbours and I had dinner together...beef noodles!! And sago with pineapple and the chocolate banana coconut muffins I made. The funny thing was, I was about to buy a pack of Dr Oetker's Schokobanane muffins...but after looking at the packaging, I realised I'd have to buy bananas, eggs and butter for it...and I was like...I already have flour, sugar, vanilinzucker, baking powder and cocoa powder...may as well just make it from scratch and save the 1,99 or whatever price it was.

I watched Mai try to pack her stuff...it's a miracle, I tell you...it was scary how much she actually had...and it was also interesting to see what she had bought...like toilet cleaning tabs and stuff.

Then I was inspired to pack my own. So I put whatever I could put inside...but there are still a couple of things to add. Then I weighed the bag...it should weigh around 13.5kg at the moment. I hope it weighs 15 kg max. I don't wanna lug a boulder home.

Ok, had definitely better get back to studying.

S-I-G-H

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Probably having a sleep hangover or something, but the world doesn't look so beautiful today.

But yesterday was different.

Leizig was fun! The Stasi Museum wasn't that great, cos there was a lot to read and I just wasn't in much of a reading mood. I kinda felt bad for Raymond too, cos everything was in German and he didn't really understand that much. And the displays were pretty low-tech. I was wondering how long the people actually spent colouring the cardboard things. It wasn't bad, but I'm sure it required a lot of manual labour.

We went for lunch at this kebap place. It was funny cos the people at the next table were speaking English too. Oh, did I mention that I was freezing?? *brrrr* It's gotten colder again...and this morning, it's snowing. The snow covers the ground...for the first time in weeks.

Then we went to an art museum. It was HUUGE. We spent like close to 3 hours in there. My legs totally hurt after that! There were some interesting paintings, but I'm not fond of the religious paintings. They're so repetitive and since the Venice trip in 2001, I've really seen enough of them. My personal favourites are landscape paintings and those with people, but I don't like messy, chaotic ones with crowds. I like clean, peaceful paintings. No violence for me, thanks.

After that, we went to Aldi. The Aldi in the Leipzig Hbf is so big (for an Aldi)! We didn't buy much lah...but it was interesting to see a larger range of things at Aldi than I'm used to.

Then we walked back to Raymond's place. He was a super big room. I like it a lot. I wish I had a room like that. He says it's too big for him though. I told him to come see my hostel...maybe he'll change his mind. I was admiring his book-wrapping skills. I have no idea why I can never get my books to look like his when I'm done with them. But he has some really cool grammar books. Am considering getting one of them. Have to check out the prices though. Angeline had that book too...and after browsing, I think it's great!

Then we made dinner. We had green curry...it was delicious! It was too spicy for Raymond though...kinda felt sorry for him cos he was breaking into a sweat. Oops. But I liked it a lot! Was super super full though...cos we both ate 2 bananas before dinner and you know how filling they can be. And we ate a lot of rice and a lot of curry...and post-dinner, we had pineapple tarts and chocolate. The pineapple tarts are nice. I got to bring home the rest of the box. I'm really picky about pineapple tarts, so I'm glad I like these.

After talking for a long time, I was like "Oh my God, what time is it??" It was 10:30pm and boy was I lucky that I checked...cos the last RegionalExpress to Dresden or second last or whatever, left at 10:55pm...so I managed to get tickets and reach Dresden at around 12:34am. It was sooo freaking cold! But thank God the 11 stops infront of the Hbf these days, so I didn't have to walk to some other place. It took 12 min to come though...and I was just pacing up and down until the 11 came. Then by the time I got down to sleeping, it was 1.30 am or so. And I slept till about 9.45 or so...cos the previous night, I didn't get enough sleep. I kept reminding myself to sleep early, but I procrastinated and ended up only getting less than 5 hours of sleep.

So all in all, yesterday was a fun day! I'm glad I had that break. But it's kinda hard to get back to studying though. The only good thing is that the exam is in 5 days. Only, today, Mon, Tues and Wed to get through. I can do this...
